String confusion

Earlier this week I asked about changing the string gauge on my soon to be new JP6 from 9's to 10's. Of course, everyone was helpful. Today I got my new axe and in the case is a set of RPS10's. Is that what is installed on the jp6? If it is, every string is exactly the same gauge as the regular slinky's I am used to so changing to my usual strings is not really a change at all.

I'll have more positive things to say, and maybe some pictures, after I have played it a while. Then I will return as ebmmguy and will forever abandon my current identity on this forum.

Glad you like your guitar!! I was the same way. I was an E$P addict or Sch3cter nut, but once i was turned on to EBMM, it's all I play now. It really is an addiction, without any crazy side effects. Well, except ordering more and more guitars.

AFAIK, the guitars are coming from the factory with RPS 9s now. Originally, the JP6 came with RPS 10s. Where did the pack of RPS 10s come from?

The RPS 10's are the exact same set as the Regular Slinkys .. the plain strings just have an extra reinforment wrap at the ball-end

I got mine from DuBaldo and its birthday is 9/26/07.

I am glad I got in under the wire. I prefer 10's so now I won't have any problems using my "regular" strings, namely Regular Slinky's.

My JP6 had 10s on and I bought it only 3 months ago.
But from the link above I see,

I have 2 BFRs.....a Luke and a JP6.

The Luke comes standard with 9's and the JP6 came standard with 10s. In fact, every 6 or 7 string EBMM JP6 or 7 that I have had has had 10s on it. Me thinks that someone needs to update that on the main area of the FAQ on the website.

Even though the JP has a slightly look to it....the scale is the same. There is no mistaking the difference between 9s and 10s on these guitars.
