Hi,
already decided to change bridge pickup on my AL back to the original one (I have there now JB jr from SD)
I'm thinking to change string from 10's to 11's. Is there already need for nut adjustment?
What are your experiences? Did you change for a thicker strings? How it changes the sound.

Once I'm getting older I think I'm getting more to the roots, just less effects and more simple set up. And letting the sound going straight from my fingers. :)

The nut slots will probably ned to be widened but some people find it's not necessary. Changes in feel going up one string gauge are obvious to your fingers but changes in sound are slight with a clean tone and very slight to non-existent with distortion. Search YouTube for Rob Chapman's String Gauge Shootout video.

I use 11s on most of my EBMMs. Those that do not have 11s have 10s. I never needed to modify the nut. I love the feel and tension of 11s and would string all of my guitars with 11s, but some just sound better with 10s.

I use 11's on my Luke 3 with no need for any nut adjustment. I prefer the feel of 11's over 10's, but can't really hear a significant tonal change. Each guitar will be different, so give it a go and see how you like it!

My Reflex has 11-49s, and I didn't need to work on the nut - it stays in tune no problem. 11s over 10s won't change tone much, though you'll likely feel yourself having to work harder on bends and fretting barre chords - that said, it's not going to be as bad as it would be moving up from 8s or even 9s.
