i am considering changing to slinkys (from super slinkys)....will i have to alter the nut in order to accomadate the larger gauge?

also, as i am facing the guitar (strings up),from the bottom, which way do i turn the truss adjustment wheel to raise the top of the guitar toward me (creating higher action)?

(i realise that i will most likely have to reverse this with heavier gauge strings)

thanks for any help you may give

Nut and Truss Rod adjustment

Yes, it would be a good idea to file the nut just a little bit if you are going to a heavier gauge string. The truss rod wheel should be turned counterclockwise.
