I have 2 guitars: I just bought a Schecter Gryphon that I plan on switching tunings on, and an Ibanez GRX-45 that I plan on keeping in B tuning to play me some Type O Negative. I've always used Super Slinky's (I love the hell out of them) and that's what's on my Ibanez right now, but they feel a bit too slinky for the tuning. I don't know much about different string gages or anything, should I get a heavier gage? I'll probably stick with Super Slinky's for the Schecter, but I'd like to test out another set of strings just to get a feel for different types of them. What do you all suggest?

Go to D'Addario's web-site. They have a string tension guide there. Use that to calculate what gauges of strings that you need for the tuning while keeping the tension the same as a 009-042 set in standard tuning. Then buy the strings you need. Buy Ernie Ball strings.;)

Thanks for the input. I think I'm gonna go with some Beefy Slinkys for my Ibanez.
