forgot... I am old so please cut me some slack.

Jon.. Why after what you done to the afore mentioned Bongo do you think it needed a new neck?

My SR 5 hung on the wall at Mass. Street Music a long time ( or I wouldn't have gottn it God forbid ) I was told when I bought it the excellent tech there would not touch it as EB come from the factory with excellent setups. It did have just that too.

Holy Moses. This and the previous post looks like I am sucking up. New question. If I do that can I get a deal on one of those Stealth Bongos? If so ..... well I will wait for the reply to comment further.

EB just flat RAWKs

Not sure about presence of ding, Jon. Ben will probably check in here sooner or later and let you know.

TK, if you do want to suck up to anyone and get a deal on a new Bongo, buttercream or otherwise, the suck-ee should be Doug (bassplyr). He will hook you up. It does absolutely no good to suck up to Jon, and in fact annoys the chihuahua....and you do NOT want to annoy the chihuahua.

Necks, being made of wood, tend to change. As hard as we try to make sure an instrument is 100% perfect when it leaves the factory, wood moves, and shifts, and sometimes things just don't work right. Ben's neck was not up to snuff after I worked on it. It played great, but I thought it wasn't what it was supposed to be, so he gets a new one.

Jack check your email

Jack I know that. I been married a long time. Hardly any kind of sucking up will get ya what ya want anywhere.

I know bassplyr will treat me right and will go there when I gets me Bongo.

I figured what they hey we all might be drunk and a price quote on here is as good as gold and I could score me one of those Stealth Bongo's. Why I don't know I don't really want to play any bass other than the execellent piece of work I already have.

Thanks Jon. It isn't always possible to know why something failed. It is great that you did not send it back saying it played great and left it at that. I knew you wouldn't. No sucking up. That came from reading here.

Mr Oldtoe will be happy when he gets his Bongo back for sure.

If I can get me a deal on the stealth Bongo. I will pay shipping for said Mr. Oldtoe.;

Do I ever give up? Nope

TK, you got your drink on over there, shizznit?

I'm working on martini numero uno here in beautiful downtown Biloxi, Mississippi.

Where's Dargin?? I have a whole bottle of Belvedere and I'm not afraid to use it.

Anyhoo, the way I see it, if all my basses except Heinz were somehow gone, I'd still be a very fortunate guy. One good Stingray 5 can get you wherever you want to go.

I just like variety. For a while there, I was in a position to do a lot of wheeling and dealing and trading and I even bought some outright, and I enjoyed it. I have owned some really great basses....and still do. I don't even mind being called a gear whore. I just like basses. Basses are sexy, aren't they? Fondle as many as you can, that's what I say.

You like the Stealth? I do too but I think a Bongo in Buttercream might be just too cool for school.

Luckily, I have some time to think about it.

Got my drink on? Well working on it been a long day.

I like the stealth and want one. What I really want is a white Bongo with a white pg. Why? Cuz I like white. I just dint wanna make the I wanna a white Bongo thread like the sparkle finish threads. For my cause I never seen a fan that knew crap about what the back of my neck looked like.

If that isn't a good cause for bringing back the all white Bongo then nothing is and I won't give up but will concede EB can do whatever they decide to do and it will be alright.

Even if they screw up they done built the only bass I really need to be happy.

Jon, the ding was already there. I don't know how it happened, but I'm wondering if it didn't have something to do with the Bongo getting shifted into a different slot in my RockStand by my guitar player. He likes to use up my spaces, since I only usually bring one bass to gig, and he likes to have three or four guitars. It's a pretty good chunk, huh? I try not to get annoyed about it. I bought the Bongo to be a workhorse, and so it occasionally spends time in the vicinity of dip****s.

Just to be fair I'll add that I'm sure he didn't know he dinged it or he probably would've told me.

Unless beer and liquor were involved, and they most likely were.
