So I'm trying to make up a set of guitar strings for myself with ten being a minimum, and 54 being a maximum, but I want the strings to increase in tension along with gauge (rare, huh?). Is there anyone who knows the string tension that comes with the string gauges? Thanks to all.

Chill,

I think know what you're saying, but I don't think you can get the string tension/string gauge increase.

But why, what is the purpose? If you take for example a low E .42 and put such tension on that string, how is the neck going to hold under all that tension. That's like having a cyclone fence for a strin

What I mean is that I'm trying to assemble a set of strings where the tension that each string has when tuned to pitch increases with the gauge. For example, if my high E is a ten and has 16 pounds of tension, I wouldn't want my B to be a thirteen with 15 pounds of tension. I've seen working sets like that before (of course, I wouldn't want to jeopardize the well-being of my guitar), and what I'm trying to do is something similar to a LTHB set. Does that help?

I managed to come up with a set of strings, with ascending tension, that I like. They range from 10-54, and they're quite comfortable, though the difference isn't too drastic. The only bad part was ordering them (close to 30 bucks ) but at least I have enough for quite some time.
