String tensions

I asked a similar question on the strings forum, but haven't got any reply yet... so I'll try here

How do different strings from different manufacturers compare in terms of tension. I'm thinking in terms of how different gauges of different materials and different constructions (flatwound vs roundwound; hex vs round core) compare.

I know that TI flats are considered low tension compared to other makes etc. How do EB nickels compare with EB stainless steel or how do DRs and Rotosound compare. For any given gauge.

I don't need figures, just general "feel"

I haven't really the foggiest idea. I do know that flats do feel looser than rounds of the same gauge. Beyond that I'm at a loss. I knew I should have paid attention in physics class...

In the flats department, my experience with tension, from low to high is -

TI flats
Dean Markley
D'Addario Chromes
Rotosound
