Hi guys,

Question: I just got a Bongo 6 and took to a Luthier to have the strings heights adjusted. It was set low and I started having the strings "buzzing". I went back and they were moved up a bit and in trunth it looks like it has returned to its original height. Doesn´t "buzz" anymore but as expected it is requires me to hold strings harder.

Does anyone has a refenrence of what would be the standard "height" for Brongo 6 stringss? I know that height preference depends on how the person plays the instrument but would be possible for you to share your experience?

I´m bit newbie but is there any chance I cause a serious harm to my instrument if I try to adjust the strings myself? After all, it seems to be a pretty easy thing to adjust it as long as you have the tools...

Best Regards,
Leandro

I don't mean to go against the grain on what customer service tells you, but personally I have my C and G strings lowered slightly from factory specs and my B raised a hair. But like you said, its personal preference. Never under-estimate the power of the truss rod alone! Once you know how to set your bass to factory specs, you can experiment with the height. And in the worst case scenario - just set it back to those specs. Easy stuff. Welcome to the forums and congrats on the 6'er. I'm in love with mine.

P.S. Like they say here, no pics no bass :)
