I have used EB Super Slinky's forever. Of the last 2 dozen sets (I get 1 dozen at a time) most all of the E (.009) strings have unwound the twist and pulled off from the grommet. The strings are not breaking so I don't think ther is a problem with the guitar. Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions?

I used to think I was but know I know I am.

Are you using your tremolo a lot, or doing wild bends, and have you tried the RPS Super Slinky strings? They have Reinforced Plain Steel strings, to get rid of problems like this. Basically it's an extra winding of brass wire around the ball end of the string, right where the regular winding is. This extra winding keeps the regular string from potentially unwinding.

I use the RPS on my non-floyd guitars because I had this same problem in the past. I haven't had it since.

Thanks Pete. I have not tried RPS. I will. I do bend alot and use the tremolo for dives only, not pull backs, (washburn wonderbar - circa 1973?) and never had this problem. I hope this will fix it.
