I have an OLP and want to take off the top finish, I understand it may just be a glued on laminate? Has anyone done this? I'll then just make it a natural wood finish. I also want to cut down the top rear edge of the body to be more like a strat. Any advice is appreciated.

I've seen an OLP double neck MM1 type guitar with the laminate. It's literally at thin as scotch tape. I touched the headstock where it had lifted at the edge and it broke right off. It's like a layer of paint. I would not expect the wood to look very good, but worst case, you can always do a solid color paint.

Yeah I wouldnt count on the wood being decent. The body on my OLP JP is like at least 5 pieces.
