Is YouTube censoring the "Open Season" video?

UPDATE: 12/19/2006 - 9:00 a.m. ET
The video took off yesterday as word about it spread across the Net. It had an astounding 18,000+ views in the past 24 hours! That should rank it as the #2 Most Viewed Music Video on YouTube. It is, however, still banned from appearing on that list. Especially in such a prominent position. So, in other words, despite the massive support for the music and the message, YouTube continues to try to keep it quiet.

UPDATE: 12/14/2006 - 11:55 p.m. ET
Current views: 6,786. According to the figures, then, "Open Season" received approximately 1,450 views today, Dec. 14th. This would rank the video as #42 on the "Most Viewed Music Videos" at this moment in time. It is, of course, still banned from any honors without explanation. We can only hope that people continue to spread the word especially to the press, the military and their families. This kind of cowardly censorship is a disgrace to everything that the video, our country and the people who defend it stand for.

UPDATE: 12/14/2006 - 5:00 p.m. ET
The views count currently stands at 6,304. So the video has had 1,000 views so far today since midnight last night. The current #100 video on the Top Viewed Music videos for today has 834 hits. In other words, "Open Season" is still banned from the lists.

Something very strange happened today with the "Open Season" video on YouTube. As previously announced, the video rocketed to a highspot of number 11 on the "Most Viewed" list of music videos for December 11th. Despite the fact that the views held strong at the same pace today, the video mysteriously disappeared off of ALL lists around mid-day. All honors had been revoked instantly. This is strange because the last video on the "Most Viewed" list has around 900 views today. As you'll see, "Open Season" has had over 2,500 views today and is nowhere to be seen.

Here is a brief timeline:

December 12th
12:36 a.m. - The video is #12 Most Viewed for the day with 2,524 views
4:00 p.m. - The video now has 4,300+ views but disappears from all lists; all honors were revoked
11:50 p.m. - The video has 5,330 views and still is not on any lists; honors denied

You can see these stats for yourself by looking at the image linked below.

http://www.StuckMojoMedia.com/images/youtube-comparison.jpg

These are side-by-side screenshots of the two timeframes. The numbers bear out the fact that during December 12th, "Open Season" has received nearly 2,800 views. The last place video (#100) on the "Most Viewed" list for music videos had 825 views at 11:50 p.m. The last time we checked, 2,800 is greater than 825. In fact, the "Open Season" video should be ranked around #19 at the moment. But again, it has been removed from all lists.

So What Happened?

Honestly? We don't know. But it is clear that someone in an administrative position at YouTube does not like the message presented in the video. The best we can tell is that "Open Season" has been banned from appearing in any of the "Honors" categories and appearing on the lists. The simple fact is that the videos on these lists are highly visible. In essence, they receive extra promotion for being popular. Apparently, this does not sit well with them in Stuck Mojo's case.

It Gets Worse

We've also received several reports that comments in support of the video have been flat out rejected by YouTube and have subsequently not appeared on the video's page. Again, we can only speculate on the reasons for this, but the evidence is clear and undeniable.

What Can You Do?

At this point, the best thing that you can do is to help us point out what is going on. First, click on the link below to go directly to the "Open Season" page at YouTube. Here you will be able to see the stats yourself and see that we are not making any of this up. Here is the link:

Next, leave a text comment for the video and let us know if you have any difficulties with it being posted to the page.

Although it is clear that someone at YouTube disagrees with the Mojo Message, our best course of action is to make the stats expose their actions. The numbers are undeniable.

We refuse to be dismissed in the name of political correctness.

Thank you for your support as always.
