I just jammed on the new sub 1 guitar at GC and it rocked, I posted a few months ago after the NAMM show my take on the guitar but I never got a chance to plug one in through a cranked head but today the stars aligned and I have to tell you I loved the guitar. The neck is fantastic, and the pups were not too shabby, they could easily be replaced but they were not noisy or too harsh at all, my only gripe is that there is no drop on the body like my silo which makes the body comfy, but I deal with it with my axis so I can deal with the sub too, the pups were very tight sounding and slightly high output I would say, the neck humbucker was a real nice addition and the two buckers together sounded good too, so anyway go check one out, for orangechannel and purplesport they have 2 of them at the GC in carle place if you wanna go check them out -

I saw 4 at GC in Commack today. I went there to try a Carvin Legacy. I picked one up and played it unplugged. Felt nice, real nice. I could see buying one and sending it in to Jon for the treatment.

I'm dying to try one of these, but haven't found anyone who stocks them yet.

How far are you from Hartford (specifically Manchester) CT? I'm about 1 hour 10 minutes from Berlingame, 1:30 from Westerly and have one double hum/trem in stock, another one coming next month.

And once again Pete is the man! I've been checking my email like a maniac the last few days, I can almost feel my new axe coming! ;)

Yes, I am located just over an hour west of that portion of RI. Just off of CT route 2. Sometime next week the Soldanos should start arriving, so I will finally have a high quality amp to try out the works of art Music Man guitars that trickle in.

Deadringer, my guess is that your guitar will be shipping to me next week - not positive though. (I didnt receive that black one today, although I should have - UPS delay I guess)

I actually tried one tonight, thanks. Guitar Center in Attleboro, MA had about 6 on display, so I played one for about 30 minutes or so after work. Although I wish the neck wasn't painted, it's more comfortable than I thought it'd be.

The textured paint is alright & the pickguard is way cool. I might pick up one of these used later on. It felt like a $500-$600 guitar to me (a little overpriced @ $700, imo). I really hope they release a model w/ a natural, unfinished neck later on, that would seal the deal for me.
