One of the EB guys will chime in......I'm just here as part of the "Sub1 support club".....and to see my SN# in my sig to give you some comparison.....although my understanding is that EB SN#'s are pretty random, so it won't help with dating yours.

or maybe you'd like to know where your Sub 1 serial number falls in relation to my three......

;)

you can ask in the "my Ernie Balls serial number is" thread. its a sticky at the top of this forum subject. http://www.ernieball.com/forums/music-man-guitars/3830-important-my-ernie-balls-serial.html

Sub 1's came in 5 colors I think, and with either one pup or two, and hardtail or tremolo. The pups are DiMarzio custom wound and sound like Pafs to some extent. They are pretty versatile guitars.

also there is a saying, and I'm in violation myself, that it doesn't exist without a pic..... but no-one says that often about Subs.. :( guess when you've seen one you've see em all and they aren't real pretty compared to regular balls.... but lets see a pic of yours, if'n you will....

here's mine
