As I understand it, the SUB stingray uses the same pickup as a regular stingray.

What about the SUB5? Same pickup as the SR5?

Seriously doubt it. SR5s have a phantom coil because of switching options. SUB5 is a 2 band banger with no options. It's probably similar to BPs "number 26" PUP, only that the strings are directly over the magnets:

So is the SUB5 pickup magnet alnico?

I'd know (possibly) if I had the chance to play one, but living at the edge of the world as I do, I've not seen one of these in the flesh yet.

So that raises the question: are the SR4 2eq and SR4 3eq pickups the same or different?
