I currently own a Fender Blacktop MIM Strat. I like it. Even though it is less expensive I've heard that the Sub Silo3 is a great guitar for the money and rivals some made in Mexico Strats. I can't find any at my local Guitar Center in Charleston, SC to try out. Any comments on these guitars. Might be cool for a second guitar.

I bought one for my youngest son right after they came out. His has been a great little guitar with no issues whatsoever. Definitely a lot better quality of a guitar than others in the same price range or even slightly higher. If your in the market for one, I say go for it.

I spoke to a sales rep at the local GC about Mesa et rest, he said that you could order really anything you want and the reason they don't place Mesas on the floor is that a local music store is the official Mesa distributor in the area. So if you really want a Sub/Sterling from GC, just ask. BTW, the local GC store has a couple of Sterling bass guitars in their bass guitar section -- so I suspect this depends from store to store.

When I bought my sons, I went to the GC in Englewood, CO. They had a few in stock but coincidentally, not the white one, which was the one my son wanted. He said they had them at the warehouse though and had it shipped directly to my house. Even though it is my sons guitar, I have been really impressed with it and have played it a little bit myself.

I never saw a SUB Silo at GC, they quit carrying all Sterling by Musicman as well as other brands, Mesa Boogie etc.

I was told they just did not sell well

I'll take a cue from BP here. Let me answer the Sterling By Music Man questions please :)

Guitar Center carries A LOT of our SBMM products. In fact, we have 6 "A" code guitars and basses.
"A" code means they are in all 261 locations.
We also have 3 "H" code skus, which means they are in 142 locations.
We also have 4 "G" code skus, which are special promotion items.

Silo3 was an early-on "G" code sku that coincided with our rolling out the SUB Series. There are a couple still in their system, but more than likely are at the Distribution Center to fulfill any online orders or special requests. We haven't shipped them any since 2013.

That would explain how I got my sons then. We bought his right after they came out. It sucks they aren't carrying them any more. I really like both the SBMM brand and the SUB brand attached to it.

Are you guys still putting them in other stores too then?
