I have a sub1 with only one p/u in it,and am going to keep it that way,I may change the p/u to something different.
Can anyone recommend a p/u that would sound killer in this guitar, into more of classic rock, heavier type of sound, was thinking maybe a dimarzio super distortion or maybe a sd custom custom.
Thanks in advance for any input on this, the stock p/u is very good,i just cant leave things alone sometimes.

Seymour Duncan and Dimarzio both have pickup selectors that can help you decide what to get and can offer suggestions, but it's my experience that the offerings from those two systems arevery generalized and that actual players are more discriminating in their tastes.

A Super D or a Custom Custom are good choices...

For Duncan offerings, I'd prefer a Custom 5 or a regular Custom over the CC. A JB with a 250K volume pot is a great sound for a rock'n'roll guitar. By the way... the Custom, CUSTOM Custom, and Custom 5 are all the same pickup coils, but the magnets are what's different. The Custom uses a ceramic, the Custom 5 uses an Alnico 5 magnet, and the CC uses an Alnico 2. If you can swing it, the '78 Model is a killer one as well.

For Dimarzio, I've had great luck covering classic rock sounds with FREDs. I'd use an Evolution for something higher-power and more modern sounding.

SH5 or SH6 would sound great in a SUB. Also, a P-Rail would be an interesting choice too, since it'd give you three in one.

some hummer ideas

I was mentioning looking at a Lawrence, as in Bill Lawrence, and the pickup is the L-500 which is the one that Dimebag Darrell used quite a bit. Should be a pretty good heavy rock/metal pickup. Or an L-90.

And the Suhr was the Doug Alderich, although the DSH+ or the SSH+ would bear looking into.

But there is literally a plethora of pickup makers and humbucker models out there. Including DiMarzio, Duncan, F****r, G****n, etc...

I really liked the Gibson 498t and they can be had reasonably priced used on ebay if you keep your eyes open; and the SD JB is a great lead hummer. I even like my stock Silo Spec DiMarzio in my Sub. But it's probably not heavy enough for ya. It's a Virtual Paf.

For a cheap thrill, look at these... Humbuckers @ TONERIDER

Thanks for the input guys,I have a jb in my godin detour, great p/u, love the way it sounds, would most likely sound great in the sub also.
I just want something different in this one, want to make sure I choose right the 1st time, still leaning towards a dimarzio sd or one of the sd custom series.
