Hi there folks!
I'm relatively new on the Forum as a member, but used to mess around from the last year.
Now, I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on a SUB1 guitar that I found recently at a decent price, but I'm conscious that not so many knuckleheads out there are liking the stock pickups.
Since the guitar comes equipped with the MM vintage tremolo, I'd like to know if the bridge pup is standard or f-spaced.
..and, I'd also like to know if someone knows why Mr. Steve Morse prefer using standard spaced pups even on his Floyd equipped balls.

Thank you in advance.
Cheers!

Ok, thanks for the advice.
I'll give 'em a try before thinking of swapping them.

Hello

I played during several years with the stock pickups. I recently changed the pickups with DiMarzio Steve Morse signature pickups. It is not because I don't like the stock pickups but because I like the Morse pickups (besides all my sounds are programmed for my Morse guitar, thus it's easier to use the SUB without having to adjust the EQ).

For the spacing, in fact I'm not sure that the Morse pickups exist with the F-spacing (they were designed for a hardtail bridge). Personally, I don't think that the spacing changes the sound.

Enjoy your SUB

Thanks guys.
I've asked for the spacing because I have the opportunity to jump on a BKP Nailbomb set, that has standard spacing, and I am actually very tempted..

The pickups are great, especially the neck - I just prefer my DiMarzios :)

I plan on using the sub pickups on a future guitar project...
