After several years of nagging and hounding, the bassist I play with (yesterday) went to Guitar Center and bought a new EBMM Sterling Bass Guitar!

Very nice, dual pups, natural body with a tortoise pickguard!

Great job. I had the opposite experience. Our bass player bought a brand new Music Man (all white) and I couldn't believe the difference in his tone and playing and in the feel of the neck. Our local shops carry squat for EBMMs so I had to search one out on the net and get it shipped to me. The rest, as they say, is history.

Our bass player plays a really old Peavy P-bass copy. It's an OK instrument, but he has had it for years and he loves it. However, sometimes he runs late for rehearsal and asks me to bring my Sterling bass. I like those rehearsals.... the bass sounds soooooo much better!
