Where i have my Axis standing in a room in my house, the sun hits it for a couple/few hours a day.

I was concerned about it since it has an unfinished maple neck, would that cause it to warp or get all messed up somehow??

the body i am not concerned about since it is covered in poly, but the neck?

may be a silly question.

Yep, silly question. ;)

Man, sun is bad for stuff.
Especially repeated / continued direct exposure.
It'll darken the wood, dry the neck, yellow the binding fade the colour, and possibly haze the poly.

Move it.

Oh my, that's a serious problem you're dealing with. The only solution I can think of is that you send your Axis to me, and I will store it in a place free of sunlight :p

And remember to leave the strap off if you don't want tan lines.

On the other hand, if you are at all concerned - move it to a different location - couldn't hurt.

Direct sunlight is bad for anything with paint on it! Move it out of the sun! (Or close your curtains... ;))

Sun can't possibly be a good thing for wood, especially for an unfinished neck. It will dry it and change it's color. By drying it it might change it's attributes and thus the tone it produces, and I doubt it will be for the better. The finish on the main body will also suffer. You should take it away from direct sunlight straight away.

It's not a silly answer so it's not a silly question. You did good by asking.

Ha ha, I know a lot of people at the Les Paul forum who put their guitars in the sun to make the finish fade and the binding yellow. Some even put it into the fridge to get those hair line cracks in the nitro finish.

That's the whole "distressed look" thing that I simply do not understand. I wish it applied to cars, though, 'cuz then I'd have a real looker. :)
