So today i decided that a white pickup and cream pickgaurd would be much cooler looking on my Trans Green SR5 (which currently is black on black). I have a Trans-Gold SR5 that pretty much stays at home with the white/cream, so ive been thinking about swapping all the guts.... Good idea? Bad Idea? Let me know

It has been done before. The problem is there aren't very many with white pups that they want to get rid of.

You may find results but you must be patient.

IMHO Either way you have a great looking bass so don't hurry.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!
I must not have been specific enough
I have both black and white pickups and simply want to switch them from one bass to another bass. Does this void the warrenty? Do people do this often?

I'm not Customer Service but I play one on the internets. Far as I know, any mods will void the warranty. If it is out of warranty and you got the parts, I say go for it.

This is how I feel. A pickup swap isn't the most invasive surgery. If you aren't skilled with a soldering iron, have a good tech do it. You certainly don't want to burn out either preamp.

But, if that's the look you want and you have the pieces needed to get it done, there isn't any reason not to do it as long as you aren't concerned about the warranty.
