swapping pup covers question

Hi there ! my question relates to pickup covers . Has anyone tried to fit a newer type pup cover ( the bongo have these ) to a sr4 that has the 2 half rounded tabs ? Are these 2 type of pup covers interchangable on a body of an sr4 ? Id also need to buy an aftermarket pickguard as well .)

Stingrays with the 2 rounded tabs have a pickup route that matches the overall pickup shape (on the right below), so you'd have to route the body to fit the Bongo shaped pickup covers (on the left below). Both are Stingrays.

.Thank you for your reply. Since ive had the bongo ive felt comfortable with its pup,s and ease of playing , i thought i could change my stingray to a similar arrangement .
