Do all of the other MM guitars have the same sweet neck profile as the Silhouette? I didn't know if some were more chunky. I prefer the thin profile and would love to get a Albert Lee someday.

I've owned three. Luke, jp & 25th. All felt different. Jp being thinnest, 25th in middle and Luke having the most rounded feel. Have u played a jp? May not suit ur style but they're thin. Try it one day :) ull buy two like I did lol

To me, the AL has the most comfortable neck. The JP is definitely the thinnest, and the Luke has a distinctive 'V' shape. The Axis has an offset profile (thicker at the top than at the bottom if I remember correctly). I like them all, but if I could have any neck on any guitar, the AL would win every time.

I love the Axis profile with the asymmetrical shape (thicker on the low E side than the high e). 25th/Silo Sp next. Dying to try a AL HH. JPs are too thin for me.

Really Mike!!:D Interesting coming from the man that does not have an AL:p Just joking my freind! But found your post very interesting, something up your sleeve:eek:

Back on topic if you like the Silo neck you will like the AL, to me similar and nice:)

It sounds like I just need to get out there and try these. I haven't tried a JP but I bet I would love that neck too. The Silo has the asymmetrical I believe. Whatever it is, it is awesome for my hand.

I haven't come across a neck that feels better then the Silo. Haven't had the chance to play an AL yet. Steve Morse neck felt real comfy too.

Lisa - the MM necks don't appear huge -and this is coming from a guy who doesn't have hands like shovels!!

I love the feel of the AL/SILO/Axis/EVH and to be honest I doin't find a great dealof difference between them.
However the JP and Luke necks have a different feel. I like the JP6 neck even though it's so different.
Search the forum using the words
I want knuckleheads to volunteer
and you should come across a thread I started about neck profiles - but you don't need me to tell you to try them if ya can.

Thanks to all of you! I found all of your input useful. Spud you are apparently as interested in neck profile as I am. It is the #1 thing I look at in a guitar. I love the thread you started on the subject. I plan to spend some more time checking it out.

Ah...Keith my friend.....the ONLY AL I've ever played was the red one you bought from Pete a few years ago (before you got it). I instantly fell in love with the neck. I love the AL concept, I just can't get used to the body shape.....unless it's on a Mr. H - and I'm still waiting for my chance to buy one of those. :D

I have smaller hands and all EBMM necks are fantastic in my opinion. The narrowest EBMM necks side-to-side are the Luke and Axis. The slimmest neck front-to-back is the JP. I love them both.

My dream neck would be a combination of both: narrow side-to-side a la Luke and slim front-to-back like a JP.
