what do you guys think? SWR 8X8 has decent reviews, and I can get a mint one for $400.00. reviews are all good and say this thing goes pretty low if needed (35hz) so I'm wondering about it,
I'm playing SR4's and I'm a pick player for the project I'm currently with which is a heavy rock you could say. I basicly run my everything flat on the amp and EQ at the bass is all flat with a tad boost on the trebs and bass for depth.

should I buy that OR I am looking at these other cabs below

Schroeder 410 for 650.00
Bergantino 1X15 w/horn for 500.00

the head driving whatever cab I will get is a GK400B that I keep around as a spare -->for now anyway!

I currently own six amp rigs and my SWR is my least favorite. But my SWR rig is a Working Man's 2001 head and two 210 cabs, pretty much their entry level stuff, so the Henery is I'm sure their higher end stuff.

But the cabs of choice here at Camp Psycho right now are the Bergantino HT-112. I've got two of those and my Ampeg 810e will never grace the back of my truck again.

This is a very personal choice and only your ears have to be happy, but I highly encourage you to check out the Schroeder and the Bergantino, both are excellent.:D

Good luck with what ever you decide.

Yeah, the Henry 8 is definitely a great cab to have behind you, and at $400 (in good condition) is worth the purchase!

I used one last year with an Ashdown MAG 300R bass head (307w @ 4ohms), and it rocked the stage with no strain...nice, full (and punchy) sound.

I only let mine go in place of smaller cabs; easier on the back.

I'm pretty sure Aussie Mark was a Henry 8x8 man for a long time. I don't know if it made the trip over with him.

I had one for a long time. It does go down low, sounds great with excellent punch. You don't need another cab to go with it.

I've owned my Henry for 3 years now, and it's hands down the best cabinet I've ever heard. $400 is an awesome price.

I don't have Henry with me in Jakarta (just my Goliath Jr 2x10) but I miss him like crazy. He's in storage back home, and I can't wait to give him a blast again.

SWR seems to be getting dogged on every end these days... granted, half of my SWR arsenal is from the pre-Fender days, half is from the post-Fender era. I love it all, and the pre-Fender stuff is definitely more soulful and solid. Is there a general disdain for SWR gear overall? I personally have never felt it to be the "crisp, clean, pristine"s gear everyone touts it to be. SWR has always felt very solid and even a bit midrange-heavy to me, which is what i need/want. My upright bass loves the Workingman's 12... it's all around good stuff for what I need.
