I choose the ASS. IMO just as versitile with a more organic tone (EMGs tend to be sterile at times, don't get me wrong I love EMGs...just love the axis pickups more) options for a quilty or flammmmmmmed top, vintage trems an option on the ass (the vintage trem kills!) and the neck is more comfortable...to me... the necks on those guitars are not even close to being the same...most of it will be what is most comfortable for you.

Have both, love 'em both.
Necks are different (Luke is thinner), but I personally find them both very comfortable and just set the action to suit.
Difference is the sound. The Axis has great HB sounds and gets good tele sounds. With the SSH EMGs the Luke's more strat-ish. (It's also much brighter - you can really hear the difference in the bridge saddles.)
Guess it depends on your playing style, really. (And also whether you like the look of the wood grain in the transparent Axis finishes.)

Luke. Fits my hand and style better.
BTW -- You can get the grain look if you go with vin sun on Luke.

gotta go w/ the luke........the neck is so...so sweet. if you don't like emg's.....you can always replace them......

they are 2 impressive guitars, but i use the Axis Super Sport (H H) 90% of the time, just for the sound, very fat and warm tones, the ideal guitar for rock (think the EVH brown sound) !
The luke is more versatile, but doesn't have this fatness the Axis have, less agressive too, the cleans on the Luke are very stratish style, and better than the cleans on the Axis IMO, the Luke can do all kind of music (i do some studio work and i use the Luke for this) but for Rock music and for massive Humbucker sounds, the ASS is hard to beat, my first choice guitar !!!
