As a new (and enthusiatic) EBMM player, I was wondering something about the caring for the neck. I know you need to oil and wax the neck occasionally, but how often. Being that maple is REALLY hard for a wood, is it as sensitive to humidity changes as say a solid wood accoustic? I am just worried that if we get in late from a gig one night and I have to leave the equipment in the truck overnight that the guitar is gonna be screwed up somehow. Also, I know that rosewood does not have to be oiled. Is the unfinished maple fingerboard harder to care for because it needs oiled and waxed?

Forgive me for being a newbie ;)....

I have 3 EBMM's that are 10, 9 and 2 years old. The eldest has been re oiled the once, but other than that I have never needed to do any maintainence on any of them (apart from the odd seasonal truss rod tweak) and they feel and play great!
