Hi guys

I am seriously thinking about investing in the g system in the next few weeks to control my rig.
Just looking for some feedback from any of you guys who use this product before i pull the trigger.:)

Cheers
Colin

I used to have a G-System. Really cool piece of gear that pretty much does it all besides overdrive/distortion. Integrating it into your rig can be a bit of a hassle at first, but once you get levels set, you should be good to go. T.C. Electronic has a good forum community, so I'd stroll on over there and get some input from the current G-System users.

I have the Nova System which is essentially the same thing just at your feet and i love it... the reverb units are based off of the acclaimed Lexicon reverb units and they are incredible... have not had a single problem with any of the features except i'm preferring to mellow things out and have eliminated all pedals between my amp and my guitar so it just sits... but they are wonderful products very flexible... dialing in the settings can take some time to work out but once you get it dialed in for your tones you'll love it.

I have one and using it currently to gig it works great and makes it easy to build a small rack rig around it.

I do have a question for bkrumme. I've been having some noise issues when its hooked up with my mesa .... that I thought was a tube until I played it without the g system. Is that something that can be cured with setting the levels.

Levels and/or the noise gate unless it's a ground loop in which case you'd need something like a Hum Eliminator (isolation transformer). I used such high gain settings I needed a separate noise gate anyway. Use the "All Bypassed" preset on the G-System to set your levels. If you're using the 4 cable method, it's likely a ground loop.

I'm hoping levels do it I've never messed with them what exactly do I need to do to change them and what am I looking to change so I can understand and figure it out. I'm guessing it has to with making the signal strenngth comply with with gain and impedence.

I've had the G-system, a great piece of kit when used with some amps, but sadly it didnt get on with my main amp, a Marshall JVM, the noise generated by the 1st effect blocks (compressor and EQ I think, its been a while), were too much for me to handle. I had to bypass this 1st stage, which annoyed me as a do like some compression. Noise gates didnt help much as they just removed too much of the guitars dynamics for my liking - killed any singing sustain. Spent a year messing with volume levels, balanced cables, different cable routes, ground isolators etc, then one day decided I'd had enough of all that and just wanted to play guitar again, so got rid and went back to a few pedals, no noise gate but almost silent now... Best move I ever made, been far more creative since I ditched the hi-tech. I'd suggest you try one first with a high gain amp, unless you never use a heavily overdriven signal.
