Hi All

I am looking at the TC Dreamscape effects pedal, can anyone offer opinions on this?

Thanks

I have it! It is pretty versitile guitar pedal but it suffers a bit from do-too-much-itis where it doesn't work as good as a singular chorus/flanger/tremolo. However, it does work great for adding subtle effects to your tone. I really like the first chorus mode with the switch to bright. I use mine in the main effects chain rather than the loop because it was just a bit to subtle there. For reference, I play JP BFR 6 and 7 into a Mesa Dual Rec Roadster.

I find the same as sballow. I run mine at the end of my main chain (in the front of the amp) and primarily use it on a Paul Gilbert chorus toneprint which is a very subtle chorus.

My complaints: knobs are difficult to see settings on stage, and there is a fair amount of volume differences between the preset choices.

Jamie - keep in mind that the Dreamscape will take any of the Corona toneprints and does have the versatility of some good flanger and vibrato options.

I would absolutely recommend tc pedals. I have the corona, vortex, and flashback x4, and the corona is great. If your going to try toneprints have a look at the guthrie govan colin toneprint
.

I turned my cousin onto the tc stuff and I've had quite a few of them myself. He had nothing but complaints about his dreamscape after loving their other pedals. Based on how adamant he was about hating the pedal I'd suggest trying it before buying. Maybe that particular pedal isn't all that hot.

How do you like the x4 Flashback? I have the standard and really like it, best delay pedal I have ever had. However, I am thinking of upgrading. Now I don't use the tap effect (because I am kind of lame and don't trust myself to get it right on stage), so I like having the delay settings set ahead of time. I want to get a pedal that can do a subtle delay for rhythm and a longer one for leads. Can you simply program two or more different settings into the X4 and just press a different button?

I also have the Corona and like it alot - very good chorus. The Spark Booster.... eh ok. Wouldn't recommend against it, but I would try other boosters as well.

Ben - what kinda complaints did he have ? Just curious if they are similar to mine

The x4 is great. You aboslutely can set a subtle and then go straight to a long delay. I have one preset for clean, crunch, and lead. It just does so much more than other delays. Would recommend.

He just texted me this:
Only three of the fx presets on the fx knob are trubypass(cant remember which specifically)...the others are killdry ...and HUGE degredation when ran through fx loop.

I thought it was something like the opposite. I run mine in the front of the amp. The other day I did an experiment to put it in buffered mode (I think I might benefit from a buffer in my chain). Several settings quit operating altogether.
