Hi folks,

I have been using a Marshall AVT 50 combo for some time now. I primarily use the amp at practice volumes and to record direct into my computer. The clean channel is excellent, but I find the distortion channel gets very "buzzy" as you push the gain past the midpoint.

I am looking for something that can provide a wider range of tones and a "crunchier" distortion at low volumes. I am not necessarily going to go the all tubes route (for convenience and budget reasons mostly), and having read great things about the Trademark 60, I'm wondering if any of you have some experience with this amp that you could share.

Many thanks.

I use a Trademark 10 for home practice and I love it - it's reliable, toneful, and very well built. Not cheap, tho'. I've tried out a couple of the Behringer Tech21 rip-off amps over the last few months, and I don't think they sound as good, especially as you turn them up (cheap speakers?) - they certainly don't seem to be as solidly constructed, but if price is a big issue, the Behringers might fit... The Trademark 60 has often tempted me, but I've got three tube combos and an extensive rack setup, so it's really hard to justify another amp to The Boss ;) I have had an eye out for one of the Tech 21 PSA-1 preamps, but haven't found one for a decent price, yet...

I use one alot, most weekends. I play in several groups , the one that gigs the most ( every weekend, I need a sub so I can play in my other groups ) is the one I use my TM60 w/, it stays in the gear trailer for this group most of the time. I LOVE it, I use the line out straight to the board, sounds massive in the PA. I've got lots of experience, played many many tube amps and I think the TM60 is a great versitale amp, the DI is fantastic. I've used mine for almost a year straight w/ no issues or complaints. By way of comparison, the amp I use for my original band/tone is either a Mesa MKI head/Madsound detuned cab or a Carr Rambler, both high dollar tube amps

all these are the TM60 direct out to a recorder, I'm supposed to send Jon @ Tech21 some of these clips for their site, I'm a BIG Tech 21 fan

Thanks a million BBD. Those clips are great!

If I can be so bold as to ask you for more (!!!), I would love to hear a high gain/crunch sound to complete the range.

If you happen to have the time and the inclination...

Thanks!
