Tech issue

For the past two years, I have shouted the praises of the Bongo bass. I even stopped bringing back up basses to gigs. At a gig last night, in middle of a song, it stopped playing and started making popping noises. I changed batteries, same popping noises. Now, all it does when plugged in is make popping sounds in a repetitive heartbeat type pattern.

Does anyone know anything about this? I am sad that my awesome Bongo bass gave out. I don't think that the electronics should give out for nothing.
