Tech Question - pickup swap

I have a LUKE with piezo and would like to install an EMG 89 in the bridge position for a few more Strat-ish like tonal possibilities.The wiring & board looks to be quite complex (yet VERY neatly done). Is this possible?

I'm not sure how EBMM does EMG's, but they are typically plug and play. There is just a small connector on the back of the pickup. Unplug 85 and plug in 89. Should be as easy as that.

yellowv03 is right. You should be able to just remove the one you have on there and plug in the other one. That is the nice thing about active pickups I wished more manufacturers would do that.

I know Keith (KBaim) did that exact swap in one of his Lukes, might be worth sending him a pm and ask him....

Nope, the 89 uses a different plug from the 85 since it has coil-splitting possibilities. Besides, you'd have to change the volume or tone pot in order to split the 89, since it can't be done by the pickup selector.

I'd have to change the volume pot to coil split the bridge humbucker.But the piezo is EBMM specific.Like I mentioned before,it's quite complex yet very neatly done.It does not look easy at all.
