I am looking for technical information about the MM bass guitar, build code 222-GW-61-09-GS-GD. I am considering buying it from a friend but would like technical information that I can not find in the internet. I am not finding any related info about this specific model with this control configuration. Any help where I can find specifications, controls information, etc?

The bass guitar, limited edition from 2012, 5 strings, has 3 knobs for controlling volume, bass, and treble. It has a fourth knob that functions as a push button which, when pressed, activates the boost mode. However, it doesn't seem to have any other purpose besides this. I am not finding any reviews, even on the Ernie Ball website.

Appreciate any info about it.

Are you sure that this bass is in the original configuration and has not been modified? What makes it "limited edition"? I don't recall there being any Stingray 5 basses with a boost, and that's around the time I got my 5 string.

It was informed that this is a limited edition of 100 basses manufactured in 2012. As per EB customer services information based on the serial number B056376

Email from EB says "This iStingRay Classi Active/PAssive was completed on January/20th, 2012. The color is ....... This was a premier dealer network run that was limited to 200 4 strings and 100 5 strings."
They´ve sent also the dealer who received this bass.
Any cllue?

OHHHH. Then it's not a boost. That's the Active / Passive control. Those I have heard of, and they definitely are rare. It also has the 2 band EQ which some like better.

Easy to understand someone referring to an Active-Passive switch as a "Boost". Switching to active from passive is literally a boost.

No mention was made of the blade switch . I would suppose its the standard single PU set up ?

tbone, you rock!
N/P! Honestly.. I was always so tempted to get a stingray classic, but... no oiled neck, tiny frets... for some reason I want the mutes every though I would never use them. Something like a NordyMute is just so much easier to engage / disengage. I just think the mutes look cool.

I owned two of the classic 5's. I liked the tone and slab body but didn't care for the fretboard radius or laquered neck.
OP if price is good, BUY IT !

Glad to know I'm not the only one. No matter how hard I try, 7.25 just doesn't work. 9.5 or higher is just so much better playing for me.
