Ok, so this week i was expecting my JP6LE to arrive in the UK which was confirmed by a post by Blind Lemon last week to say they had received a shipment. So I told Mrs Phrat that it would probably be ready for pick up this week.
Well she currently has my mobile phone as she doesnt have one and on monday she took a call from PMT in birmingham to say the guitar was due in. She decided it would be fun not to tell me and come and pick it up and suprise me with it on Friday (bless). So she agreed with PMT if I called them they would say the are expecting it in next week or the week after (clever girl!).
I got home that evening and she let slip that she had a suprise for me this week. Now, this set off alarm bells as she is the worst person at keeping secrets (which has its advantages
) but I thought I would go along with it but i had my suspicions. Anyway, they were confirmed when later on i picked up my mobile to see if i had any messages and there in the recent calls thing, was a call from PMT that day.
At this point i felt bad and confessed to her I knew what the suprise was. Incidently, the next day i had an email from Blind Lemon to say my JP was in and would be with PMT on wednesday so she didnt really stand a chance with this whole plan anyway. So we agreed that i would book Friday off work so we could both go into Birmingham and pick it up.
Anyway, i just called PMT to check that it had arrived there and i was ok to pick it up, having forgotten about the whole "suprise" thing and I ended up having a really dodgy conversation with 2 staff members, still in on the plan who were desperately trying not to let slip they had it in and that my wife was trying to suprise me with it. It was very funny when i realised why they were being so cagey and explained to them what had happened.
Gotta give them all credit for trying but the moral of this story is "NOTHING comes between and man and his new Ball!"
