It is a branding issue. All new models since the sub dont have ernie ball on the headstock
eventually the ernie ball will be dropped from all instruments

BP is this just for the bass side of things?

I just looked at my Morse Y2D and Rosewood ASS and they both still have the Ernie Ball in the logo.....both new models too

(always wanted to use that smiley)
