Guitar (after kids and wife).

After age 25 or so, I never viewed a car as anything but transportation and an expense, they don't excite me anymore. Some of this is probably because I travel ALL the time, so driving isn't much fun anymore. I would love to get a motorcycle, though.

(I don't care about big screen TVs or home theaters either, I have nothing to talk about with the majority of my neighbors ).

My car is a practical thing, and so are my guitars to some extent. That said, I would polish the guitar before the car.

I used to be heavily into modified VW's and could take my engine out in less than 10 minutes!!
Did the Woolfrace Wheels/BF Goodrich Tyres/ Fiber glass Front/ heavily modded engine, even did my own deep buttoned draylon interior panels(a la Chesterfield setee), deep black paintwork (of course it had to be black!) 12 volt conversion ... ... ... etc
Was Chairman of the South Wales VW club for many years.
Then got married - house - kids blah blah. Now I freak out if a new tyre costs more than 60 bucks!!

Guitars come first !!

Definately guitar! (The poor cars suffer due to water-restrictions: can't wash them unless you collect your own rain water or go to a commercial carwash. Even when water restrictions didn't apply, washing cars was something I bribed the kids to do. )

The guitars without a doubt. I clean the guitars after I play them and change strings before every gig (which is usually once every three to four weeks).

Cars - try to keep em clean, I like a clean car, but mine is way past due on the wax job...

I beat the hell out of my cars they are merely to get me point A to point B. I hate spending money on cars and find it a nuisance to take care of them.

My guitars are a different story.

My other poison is old style guns. A lot of guys like really fancy automatics and such, to me the older the better. I am currently on a quest for a nice flint lock but they are almost as hard to come by as a Dargie Morse (which I have never seen, don't know if they made any or not).

Most of the times it the guitar until about 2 weeks before and after a race then it's all about the race car, trailer and tow vehicle. Although I have skipped a race if the gig pays enough money
