I have been an EBMM fan for a long time and I have had many EBMM basses...even sold them for a while. I am also a gear whore and cannot help myself when it comes to buying, selling and trading basses. But there is one thing I know for certain at the ripe old age of 42 after 27 years of playing. The one bass that is MY voice in the world of music is the EBMM Stingray 5. I have said for many years and I will repeat it here again.... I have bought, sold, traded, played, fondled literally hundreds of very fine bass guitars in my life and without a doubt the Music Man Stingray 5 is the finest 5 string bass. It ranks in the history of bass guitars right up there along side the Precision, Jazz and Stingray in my opinion.
I play a very simple yet elegant 1999 SR5 black/maple bass. I play in lots of different styles and the SR5 fits perfectly in all of them with slight modifications. The B string rivals any 35 inch scale bass and blows most of them away. It is a fantastic instrument and the one bass in a sea of millions that is the sound inside my head when I think of electric bass.
Thank you Sterling Biff Ball.....
