Dont bother with the UK Rad. Have you seen our weather lately!!!:D:eek::D

I've been to the UK. It was lovely, but if I go again, I haven't remember to pack plenty of salt. Plus, they are the only country that sort of still likes us. :D

Seriously, I'd love to see more of Europe because it's so close to NYC. I've been to Berlin, London, and Edinburgh. Loved them all.

I think it's possible that you are overly optimistic. I don't think that this country can ignore the rising cost of healthcare. I think that some of the problems faced by the auto industry with their benefits issues are, perhaps, a sentinel event. It's possible that their problems funding their worker's healthcare benefits should serve as a wake-up call to other U.S. industries. When those costs start spiralling out of control for everyone else, we're going to have a huge problem competing with other countries' industries that don't have that handicap. We'll see. At least, politicians are starting to talk about it again. Hopefully, something will be done to fix the system. Hopefully, the cure won't be worse than the disease.

Politicians actually "doing" something to fix the healthcare system? Now who is being overly optimistic? :D

I hear ya bro. You make some really good points.

Dispite the fact that ridiculing President Bush seems to be en vouge here in Germany (I could live without it, trust me), we really do like America - probably without being aware. There's American influence everywhere. Yet a lot of people tend to refer to Americans as if they were dull-witted hillbillies altogether, not realizing that they are those hillbillies themselves.

Personally, I love the United States and would rather be a U.S. citizen than a German citizen. There is so much not to like about my country I don't even know where to start. :(

I pledge allegiance... ;)

Are they? I mean, EBMM are better, of course. But others? I don't think a Fender is automatically better made than a Framus or maybe a Duesenberg.

Generally I don't buy products based on where they were made. But I do take it into account if it's relevant - after all, Made in China on a guitar usually translates into "Don't touch" ;)

I drive a French car... :D

OK, seems I messed it...
I didn't want to say a US 7ender is automatically better than a Framus, Duesenberg, Diego, whatever. There definitely are exceptions to be found everywhere and yes - it's not "where" something is produced but rather "who" makes it out of "what materials" with "how much love for what he does" :D :D :D

...still enjoy my good ol' Audi...which is completely off topic here...

America is not a country, it's a continent. The country's name is USA. I'm from Argentina, another american country, so and I'm also an American.

Now, EBMM is a great product from the USA!!! Or whatever... Is the place really important...?

Have a nice weekend!

Also based on the SLO factory tour september '05, the fine people making your guitars and basses come from all nationalities.

I'm just glad they're good at what they do, not what they look like or where they're from.

Who knows if 10-20 years from now it will still make sense for operations to be based here and not somewhere offshore??
