Wanted to give thanks to the bass gods at EBMM for designing and making the REFLEX Bass!! :D
I recently bought this one "as new".
I had never played one before and took the chance I would like not only the looks of her, but the playability and tone as well.
This plays like a dream!!
It has the smoothest neck!
The body is small and really light!
Beautiful red tone rosewood fret board!
The 18V electronics are amazing!
And the tone variety is first rate across the boards!

Just wanted to say big thanks EBMM!
And share the review with anyone on the fence about trying out the Reflex model.

Here are a few snapshots I took quickly today out in the wife's garden area.
Saw some nice light out there and parked the bass on a stand for a few quick snaps...

Wow man... That thing is sharp as hell. I've got 2 of em. Kinda. One is bionic, but like my kids, publicly, I love both of them the same, but everyone kinda suspects that I love the one that doesn't sh1t his pants and drool at the dinner table, just a tad bit more. Same thing.

Ohh Yeah, ...thanks SLO folks for my "White Cadillac" too, ...it's my No.1 "working horse" at the moment and it's a Hell of the bass! :)

I think this one was not shown before:

Is the bridge pickup in the Bongo HH or Sterling\Stingray HH position on the Reflex HH?

It's in SR/SL position, ...well actually the bridge H pickup is definitely in Music Man "sweetspot" position and that's what counts for me, ...I'm not 100% sure about neck H position!

Neck pickups are anyway just the "spice" pickups from my point of view, ...bridge H sweetspot gives original Music Man tone!

On this one is very obvious what I wrote above:

Yes, ...exactly, but according the wood materials of the body and series/parallel switching options, reflex could give You Sterling and Stingray tone in one bass, even more modern and wider one!

P.S. ...I'm sure that HSS models can produce also whole new Music Man tone options for discover to lucky owners!

Glad I did wrote this...It is cool getting people talking about Reflexes....Do not see a lot written in threads about them it seems?
It appears to be the EBMM bass that has yet to catch on...????
I am sure the higher price is a big part of that. Especially in such a crappy US Economy.
I was lucky to find this one mint as new for a good used bargin! :D

Congrats Mrfstop, nice score, just a ton of tone right there, the passive tones alone are huge. It doesn't seem to me that it will become a big production model as it's too unique. But like the Bongo and BA once someone gets past their preconceived notions of what a bass should look like and actually plays one, then it becomes bass epiphany time. Great new member of your killer group of MM's.

I can only speak for the Bongo 5HH: The bridge PU of the Bongo HH/HS is not in the so-called sweet spot. I am very happy with this fact since it offers a complete new range of tones which cannot be achieved with a bridge PU in the classic position.

Love my reflex. Inside coils all the way. Passive and series for a focussed and slightly Grindy tone. Parallel and active for a wider cleaner version. HH is the Shizuoka.

Thank you!!
I agree totally.
I recall when I first laid eyes on pics of a Bongo online.
I thought WTH is THIS thing? what a freaky looking odd bass?
Looked like someone hacked off the horns...
Then I read up on the history behind the Bass and the specs.....
Then I bought one...
And now it is one of my truly favorite basses...Visually and Tonally.
I will never sell my beloved 2004 Lava Pearl Bongo HH!!! :D
Have never tried a Big Al yet....Have been hoping to find one in a store or someplace where I can play that thinner neck first before buying one.
Could not be more pleased with the purchase of this Reflex!! A well made investment!!

You take the best pics. As always.

Hey my friend...big thanks!!
I need drag these basses over to the studio and take some high quality studio pics....
These are all snap shots in and out of my house...hahaha!!
I had given thought to offering a service shooting peoples basses and guitars....????
As an added something to my Photography business.
BUT, I seriously doubt people would want to pay the rate and then the high shipping costs to and from.
And then there is always the worry of the bass or guitar becoming high priced beautiful toothpicks in transit :(

I'm just patiently waiting until a black HH Reflex with a maple board pops up somewhere...
