Thanks, jongitarz and 5stringer!

Howdy John/Dan,

We met yesterday when I picked up my Axis SS after John serviced it, and in the event you were jonesin' for a raise, I thought a message here instead of sending you a PM might grease some wheels for the higher-ups.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the great work on setting up my baby, and for getting it done so rapidly. It plays like a completely different guitar, and a better one at that. I'd stopped using my trem because I couldn't keep things in tune, and you solved that one but good. While this was probably as interesting a job for you as a clogged toilet is for a plumber, I hope you know how much it meant to me that I could drop it off at Graceland, get it serviced by those who know what they're doing, pick it up, and to meet you in person.

Yeah, for the rest of you, I didn't have to wait those agonizing days to ship and receive my guitar. I just picked it up locally. Neener neener neener! :D

You know...I have not had a good experience with getting my guitars serviced since I had some work done at East Coast Music Mall in Danbury, CT.

Every other place, something went wrong. One guy was trying to set up my $tr@t, and the trem arm broke. One guy was cleaning my electronics on this Korean $tr@t copy, and it disappeared from the shop. He compensated me of his own accord. Don't worry. He didn't even bat an eye when I told him what I paid for it. No questions asked. I thought that was classy.

I went to a F3nd3r Authorized Service Center (or so the sign said), Elderly Instruments, in Lansing, MI, and they lost the metal loop on one of the latches to my OHSC.   Did they make any gesture to "make it right?" No. Did they even admit that there was the possibility that they could have lost it? Well, they looked around their repair shop. I don't know how hard they looked, but they didn't find it. Did they have the gall to ask me if the case was missing the loop before? Yes. I take care of my stuff well enough that those types of things just don't happen. I couldn't really prove that the guitar case had the latch intact, thuogh. The thing that pissed me off was that they didn't even offer to do anything. They did not offer to fix it. They did not offer to knock off even a token amount of money of the price I had to pay for their crap set-up and what one could construe as damage to my property. I'm never going back there again for anything. I won't recommend them to anyone for anything.

So, I would love to be able to bring/send my EBMM back to the place where they were born, but I bet as long as it's a simple set-up, I guess I can't do that. Can I?

Yes, you most definitely can. We do out-of-warranty work all the time. Just call me for an RA at 866-823-2255, and you, too, can have the one and only jonguitarz setup your guitar like the master he is!

Our bench rates are reasonable, the main cost would be shipping.

:D :D

Wow! That's great! Thanks, Dan. Thanks for the info. What a great company EBMM is--from the CEO on down!

BTW, what's an "RA?"

Just looking at my OHSC with the missing latch parts. Man, it reminds me of a boxer or a hockey player with a tooth missing.

I was just busting your chops..I know your intentions were good and I am glad you are happy with your guitar, and I appreciate your posting about it.

It was also nice to get to meet another forumite.

BTW, it is Jon

No worries, Jon. I was afraid I'd committed some fatal faux pas!
