It's just like a bass version of the signature guitar by that guy who plays in Mars Volta or something... I know cause my son (Young Wazoo) raves about that band and their leftie guitar slinger that plays an Ibanez just like that. I don't even know what his flippin' name is anyways..... kids stuff. lol I am too old for that, I just listen and assimilate bits here and there.
Here's the geezer, funny looking fellow
EDIT: we shouldn't be talking about Ibanez here anyway, watch me getting in trouble for it, though lol...
Nah, not you, although I imagine I'll have to shut it down sooner rather than later.
I've bought a couple of Ibanezzzezz over the last few years, thinking (a) hey, that looks cool and (b) I need a beater but came up with (c) those things are really, seriously pieces of crap.
The old Ibanez Musician and Artist series, Made in Japan, are pretty good. But all the current ones I have tried are nasty as hell.
That particular model is a straight rip off though. Even the bridge is mightly close to a Musicman from what I can see.
ANYTHING you buy from EBMM equals awesome. With the other company being mentioned here you have to choose wisely and even then it's 50/50. Sometimes I've gotten "lucky." Other times, not so "lucky."
Cool but somehow cheesy. And something about that design doesn't work (visually). As with all their other instruments, it looks like a rip-off, but it's hard to point the finger on it.
There had been some multi pickup baases over the years. Remember the Bootsy Star Bass?
But they all do have one thing in common. They are not really playable or look and feel terrible. Not to mention the sounds.
The Big Al an the other hand sounds, looks and feels awesome...
I'll agree that Ibanez is rather ugly...I've only owned one Ibanez in my lifetime, an Ibanez Black Eagle. If I remember correctly it was a rather nice bass.
