I have found on some pictures that nut of 2005 LTD ED (both guitar and bass) is of a special kind. A notch before each slot. What's it? will it help to the tuning? if someone own a guitar or bass installed with this nut, could you please paste a few close-up pictures here ?

Hah! I eat chicken sandwiches beforehand, smoke and drink coffee during.

It's a bass!

It is kind of pretty and pristine, though.

I'm thinking about what else to do to it.

Beth owes me a pic of white with abalone, but............

That's kind of nifty, too.

I'm just glad you have that one so the next time some butt wipe calls my ButterCream SR4 white I can direct them to your "truly" white bass. Sort of a reference piece for the bassically challenged. :D
But in about 20 years, Jacks bass will be buttercream! :D

Found those in a box marked "TIs off White Sparkle Sterling".

I last saw that bass in 2003, and I'm not entirely sure those strings weren't on another bass before the Sterling.

Ya think? I don't know if poly finishes will yellow like the old nirto finishes and the chances of Jack owning that particular bass in 20 years is pretty slim.

I'm not sure about the poly finishes, but good point about Jack not owning it in 20 years. :D

It's a compensated nut - no need for special tuning equipment or any of that. It just works better. How nice and simple is that?

All new basses will have the compensated nut.

Are you in the States?

what is it about?

Sorry...all I did was use the search feature up top and entered "Compensated Nut" and it gave me many threads which explained it. Give it a try yoruself.
