Since I STILL haven't managed to get pics up of my glorious new (well, it was new a month ago:D) ASS up, here's a video of me playing a piece on it in one of my classes.

DISCLAIMER: This was a one-shot deal I royally screwed up a few spots (i.e. a lot of stuff after 1:15)and I honestly can't say I'm happy with it. I was however, sight-reading bits of it and had to rearrange some of it the night before due to not having someone to play the backing part for me. Consequently, it's a bit bland sounding at times (certain parts couldn't really be cut out while still retaining important parts of the piece. The tone: yamaha practice amp....that's all I'll say about that. However, I dont' want to make excuses or anything, as I'm posting this to show off the guitar, not my playing. So, while criticims are welcome, I really doubt you'll tell me anything that I'm not already paistakingly aware of.

I'll have better videos (and pics!) soon.

Happy Holidays everyone.

Mistakes or not, your playing kicks my ass! :D
Nice work.

You really show the versatility of that guitar!

...and Happy Holidays to you too.

Sweet! I love to see the Axis being used for other types of music. I love that guitar and can't wait to get mine. I inted to play everything from jazz to rock on my A.S.S. Your video validates that the Axis has more range than most would think.

Great playing BTW :)

Beautiful, just beautiful. And the sound of the Axis is so clear. I had my mind set on a Silo, but after seeing your video, I'm not so sure anymore... I'll eventually get both, but I don't know which one I need first :)

Anyways, congrats on your playing and on the guitar !

You guys truly are too kind, thanks for all the kind words:)

If you guys like the sound coming through on this vid, I can't wait to record it with my Boogie. The clean sound I get through that thing with the ASS is mind blowing (to me at least). The versatility was one of the deal makers for me on this guitar. In a single day, I'll be playing anything from Chet to Paisley to Howe to Petrucci to Martino (albeit not nearly as well as either :)) and this guitar has yet to leave me high and dry.

Greenwizard: I certainly hope people aren't saying that! I think the wide variety of existing material that's been played on these things by the countless guys who use them is enough of a testament to their range. As I get more material up and running on youtube/myspace/whatever I'll try to record as much of a variety as possible and see if I can do anything myself to disprove such statements. Honestly, with obvious exceptions (I.E. classical guitar, certain types of jazz) there isn't a sound I can't cover (or at least come ridiculously close to) with the ASS and my F-30.

mb99zz: You definitely wont be disappointed!

somesmerized: The clarity of this thing really is great. In many ways, it responds like some of the higher end acoustics I've played (both physically and aurally). It's great for chord-melody type stuff because of that. I play a lot of chet-esque fingerstyle (that piece is actually my take on Chet's version of it....it's a traditional russion/gypsy tune) and I love it for that because in many ways the way it responds allows me to carry over a lot of my classical technique. With other guitars, I have to change the technique and overall balance in my right hand in order to acheive what I'm usually going for. The axis responds to me rather than the other way around, which is truly a feat for any guitar/guitar manufacturer.

Love the Axis....the sound really is nice. Almost acoustic-like at times....

Ya, it's pretty sad. Some people are just not educated.
I'm very interested to hear it through the F30!
