...the stock bridge pickup in the Silhouette.

Wow.

It's perfect. It adds just the right amount of power and warmth. Very expressive pickup - easy to extract a whole range of timbres from the notes by altering your pick angle and pressure.

It's also a very balanced with the stock Virtual PAF neck pickup and middle coil.

I know a lot of people already like the stock Virtual PAF bridge in the Silo and that's cool - just expressing my opinion on one that really seems to suit my needs more. :)

If you haven't checked out the AT-1, find a guitar to put it in. It's worth it.

I got an AT-1 In my ibanez rg565, I also put a bridge cruiser in the neck (like Timmons) these are awesome pickups, the bridge cruiser in the neck has than sweet crunchy electric gypsy tone and the AT has great 'bite' and tone!
Probably the best two passive pickups I've ever tried:D

Nice! Very good choice for the Silhouette. As per your other thread, that's what I suggested I think as well as the Air Zone. I think the Air Zone has very similar qualities and I absolutely LOVE it in my Silo Special. Did you put 500K pots in there? I completely agree that these fatter pickups are perfect for the Silos. I think I will try the AT-1 in my 20th Silo...should be a great combination with the mahog tone block, alder and maple wood combo.

Mike, I agree with you on the Cruiser bridge model in the neck...I actually have that in my Silo Special with the Air Zone in bridge and also a Fast Track 1 in the middle. Such an awesome sounding rock machine, but can play pretty much anything under the moon. I also love the fact that its all noise canceling hehehe.

I replaced the stock CTS 250k pots with DiMarzio custom taper pots as well. 500k volume and 250k tone. I wanted to let more signal through but didn't want to brighten the guitar too much.

The AT-1 added some good midrange chunk and removed the "plink" around 2.5 kHz without making the guitar sound compressed or dark. It really seems to be a great fit. The thing played so nicely and sounded great acoustically, so I knew it was just a matter of getting the electronics beefed up to match...
