Hi all!
I just registered to this nifty dealie tonight because I have a bit of a predicament, kids. It seems that baritone guitar players like myself are experiencing a shortage of good string options. I've tried the 6-String Baritone Slinkys (gauged .013-.072), which are quite nice, but unfortunately my bari's neck is so bowed out (because for a time I strung it with lighter strings and consequently less string tension) that tuning much further down than a whole step below standard becomes impractical. I've seen on this website that Ernie Ball makes custom single strings up to gauge .074 then above that they make a .090 gauge. Now I've also seen that you can buy any of these on Musician's Friend and several other retailers but the .090 gauge never seems to be offered. Could somebody tell me how I could get a hold of some of these little buggers?? I think it'd just be the coolest thing ever to tune this sucker to something crazy like Drop-G, but a .072 gauge for a low string would never allow for all that!! lol.
Thanks much,
Joe
