So, I sold my fretless to Eggman and went to pack it up last night......

The nice thing is I had the box that my Dargie Sterling had come in.......

I slid the fretless into the box and .............................EEK!

It was about three inches shorter than the Dargie's case...........

Lucky I had some extra padding...............

Does the Sterling bass shrink over time? :D

Hmmmmmmmmmm...........................

My 2000 Sterling case fits neatly into my trunk, but the 2006 Sterling HH is just a tad too long. So now he rides shotgun. Not much of a conversationalist though.

you know how wood expands and contracts...

it's natural, it'll go back to normal in the summer.

Rik, send me the new box from Pete..... so I can pretend its my bass coming in!!!

I think Billy has separation anxiety!

Pete separated him from his money.........

And caused him anxiety by not telling him what color his bass is!! :D

Keep smiling, Billy! The wait is worth it!

Ricthie - the fretless plays and sounds great. I just noticed this morning the case size difference. Probably less expensive to order one case size and two insert sizes than two totally different cases. Regardless - bass arrived well packed and well protected. Thank you.

Case size isn't everything............

Great! Glad you like it! You're very welcome. :) Yeah, I figure your case theory is correct. Either that or it's all genetics!
