So, last week after much excitement I received some new pickups for one of my guitars. I had been looking forward to doing this since I got the thing in 07 (it's not an EBMM, I wouldn't mess with one of those ;)). After inspecting the pickups I noticed that the bridge pickup is the wrong spacing. In a small fit of rage I packed it up immediately and went to my local UPS store after receiving the RA# from Musicians Friend (the place I bought it from). I followed every instruction on their return policy to the tee (I have proof) and it ended up being shipped out this past Monday. Well...today, my return was supposed to land and be delivered to the Musicians Friend's warehouse in Kansas City, MO which meant that I could finally order the correct pickup and get it here by next week! Sadly, that wasn't the case at all...mainly because it is out for delivery in Kansas City, KS as I type...

It's not really a big deal, but as the title says, it's just the little things that piss you off.

Oops!

After further research, I noticed that the distance between Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, MO is comparable from me to the bathroom in my own home. I guess there is no real reason to get upset. OOPS!

i hear ya...

for the last few years i've been wanting to buy an ORANGE amp soooo bad but just couldn't ever find the funds to do such...
finally this year i found a smokin deal on ebay and bought it...

the guy took a week to ship it and instead of shipping via UPS (which i paid for) he shipped it via FedEX (which requires a signature and i work) so i fought with FedEX to keep it at their home delivery so i could pick it up... ended up taking off work an hour early (out of my vacation time) to pick it up. The driver instead of folling the instructions on the box (via taped note from his boss) decided to take it with him for delivery... it was an hour and a half drive to only find out it wasn't there... long story short i ended up getting the amp eventually but it sure sucked at the time

so yeah it's the little things that just spurr ya...

hopefully this will be resolved quickly for ya and you'll be up and at 'em in no time...

Thanks Peter, I'm sure your little adventure was quite a bit more stressful!
In the end, you are right, it will end up getting here and it will all be good! No worries.:D

Rise above such small things brethren, let them be as the idle wind which thou regardeth not.

On the rare occasion that I've returned things to MF getting the item there is only half the battle, since it takes them a very long time to process and restock the item and credit you.

Not that I am glad to hear this but it is nice to know that someone at least knows how this works, MF has kind of left me in the dark...how long does it take to get the exchange?

In my experience it depends a lot on when you returned the item. It took almost two weeks for one item normally closer to a week or slightly under.

They definitely don't clue you in to the process very well. On the item that took two weeks (the first thing I returned to them) I ended up calling them and the woman who answered was very rude, as if I was being too pushy by asking what was going on after over a week of no contact from them . She gave me the impression that they process returns in week or two week long bunches so that, for example if a grouping lasted from may 1st to 7th, anything they received in that timeframe would be processed at around the same time. This is completely unsubstantiated, but that was definitely how she phrased it.

It's kind of a pain for sure. Living in the middle of nowhere like i do, it often becomes necessary to take advantage of their return policy just to try out a new piece of gear. They only shipped me the wrong item once, and I recall that being a pretty fast turnaround for them to ship the correct item (and I ended up getting a free pedal out of it, but that's another story), so hopefully since that's what you're doing it will be speedy.

i feel you. ive been waiting on my suspension parts for my car for over a month. one company got me my springs and sleeves in one day. revalving the shocks has taken a while which i kinda understand...but ive been waiting over a month for top hats and bumpstops. that is retarded. on the plus side, living in socal basically means i can at least try any guitar i want and will never have to wait for shipping
