OK, I have had this thing since the beginning of December. So its debut is long overdue. It started with Glen's evil Guitar Center clearance list last year. This gave me something to do on my travels for weeks on end. After much deliberation and vacillation I settled on a generic, I mean classic black and tan Stingray 5. I really wanted one of those Red SR5's with the white shell pickguard. But alas they all weighed in around 10 lbs. Those pesky black and tan ones were always lighter. Mine weighs in at 9.5 lbs. I found this bass in Gilroy. It has been there since 2006 and is in amazing shape. Only one tiny pencil lead size ding on it. When I got the bass home it home cleaned up beautifully.
I have had nothing but complements on how it sounds. Which is saying something since I have been playing nothing but EBMM since 2006. So here it is.

Congrats, great looking bass, amazing that it was in a store that long and survived. Gives new meaning to NOS. All the best

I have almost the same thing, except a white pearloid PG and chrome knobs. I love the look of it.

Funny add on about this purchase. I have now owned 3 EBMM basses since 2006. They were all built in 2006. SUB 5 (July 2006), 30th Ann. Stingray (April 2006), and Stingray 5 (June 2006). I seem to be drawn to that year for some reason.
