Hello ladies and gentlemen, first and foremost I would like to state(or warn) you all of how little I know of what I'm doing. I'm generally a quiet guy that has never posted on any forum before in all of his short life. However, I've been reading more and more and have come to know most of you as if I actually knew you.

So I decided to join in, but I'm pretty sure if I were to just waltz in and start talking to you all as if I were your friends it'd be strange, awkward, and you'd all start wondering who the heck I am. So I've decided to make this a Mandatory Introduction to sam. I had written this previously, right after I joined a day or two ago, and this was really long and really elaborate. Unfortunately something went wrong and I lost the whole thing. This won't be as long or as elaborate, but I'd like to supply some back story to my experience with the Music Man family I've come to love.

Alright, not too long ago I was a young and eager bassist, playing around on his squier five and dreaming of becoming a great musician... But really just Loving bass. I had always respected Music Man greatly, as I knew Tony Levin used a ray and I've been a fan of KC for some time now. However, I must admit, the exotic woods and strange shapes of Warwick had me won over before I had even tried one. I know, I was young, naive, I still haven't even tried one. I'm happy to say though, my mind was changed...

So my family(that's been very poor and struggling for all of our lives) comes into some money around Christmas timed just passed, so I decide, at only a little over a grand for a Ray, it would be a good bass to check out that's top of the line and cheap. I begin looking around and stumble unto a store that carries Music Man's and Olp's. So the first thing I do(they were Sold out of Music Man's.. things went like hotcakes over Christmas) is look at the Olp. Within a week I traded in my squier five, I belive, with only playing it for a few seconds....

I know it's cliched now but, Wow. I was blown away. I had come to believe these pathetic quiet, passive, half dead jazz pickups on my squier were the stuff. I was wrong. I fell in love instantly. Not just with the sound. The quality of the bass was amazing. Suddenly it felt good to play the instrument I love so much.

My mother, being the great supporter that's helped me through drug addictions and depression and so much, having seen that the chance she took on me by spending our tax money on my very first bass was a success, offered to buy my a Ray with our newfound wealth. However, in the end I decided I would save her the coinage and go with the SUB. So we ordered, and I waited, and it came... Wow. A white, music man sub, alluminum pickguard still sits peacfully in my room, ready to pump out the funk on demand. I loved it. I loved the action. I love the black finish. I love the fact that is says "Music Man SUB" on the headstock. I love my bass. I love music man.

Fast forward months a few, I find myself at this forum. Now as mentioned I'm not a computer guy and spend very little time on it usually, but somebody that means quite a lot to me tends to enjoy my online company, so I find things to do. Enter the Bongo.

I admit, when I first saw it, I didn't give it a second look. Don't misunderstand, it wasn't the shape or the colours. It was how exotic it was, it was the fact that it was this high tech advanced instrument that, to be frank, I didn't think I was ready for. I actually recall myself saying "Bongo eh? yeah.. I'll deal with that later." So anyhow, as mentioned, I started reading this forum over the past two months and you can guess what I start learning more and more about. I'll give you a hint, I've been to lord of Bogo's website...

So about a few days ago I'm walking into my store to make my last payment on my Sterling SUB when I notice the Bongo that was there earlier is still there. I decide, after reading all this, I owe it to the bass and myself to try it at least once. Five minutes I played. In five minutes I had created tones I've spent hours and hours killing myself on EQ's and such trying to creat. Five minutes I created tones that would put my other three basses out of a job. I sat in the car with my ma for ten minutes asking her grown up oppinion on if I could afford it(I'm proud to say now I purchase all of my own equipment by working myself to the bone). After some discussion, I walked back into the store, exchanged words with my great music guy and had written up a reciet for the bass.

So... I decided that was my initiation to the forums and now I would be a bit more worthy to speak in them. Anyhow, I'm sure all this will allow you to gather the jist of who I am as a person. I feel I owe you all that because reading your posts has allowed me to gather the jists of who you all are. So if I've just made some big annoying post I am greatly sorry.

So without further ado, hello all, my name is sam, and I love bass.

I'm feeling the brotherhood forming... does that mean you can give me extra basses/money?

PS(hopfully my strange sense of humour translates in this place ;)

Alright, in no particular order, here are some answers

1:Sorry guys, I'd love to get you guys pics as soon as it's payed off but I have no camer, I do have a webcam though, I mean my sister does, perhaps I can get that to work.

2: Sort of ties in with one, alright, this is gonna be blan, brace yourself. It's obalt blue, four string, HH, no piezo. I told you, about as common as they come. A Bongo's a Bongo though so I'm Certainly not complaining
