BTW, there are new Super Mario games, and my kid and his friends all play them.

We HAD to get Super Mario Galaxy and Galaxy II. I tried playing those but there's just too much going on all at once. I knew I was too old when I watched Jeremy and one of his buddies going at the game and they were actually having a conversation as they played. Sh!t, when I try to play that game, I can't even BREATHE.

Interesting story!

Hope Your kid is gonna like keyboards!

By the way, I have to add that my keyboard player giggin' with Korg Triton Extreme, it's very versatile instrument, great sample sounds and feel...etc.

I remember dad unilaterally deciding I was to take piano lessons when I was a kid. The teacher was a nice lady who despised rock and roll music, just as I was discovering how much I really, really loved said music. It didn't work out. I still can't play the piano.

Sounds like a cool guy, Jack. I bet he becomes as smitten with Jeremy and Music Man basses as I am. (and you, too, ya big lug xoxoxo)

No way would I ever trade the experience of 10 years of piano lessons (with the same, patient teacher) from 8 to 18. Set such a solid musical vocabulary that I have built upon the rest of my life with new instruments (like the bass). Just don't let him quit the first time he says "I want to quit".

That's a great story Jack, and it's neat when kids (hopefully) pick up on music. You'll end up learning a thing or two yourself, trust me on this.

And maybe another Bongo player on the horizon? Cool........
