Well, sigler music couldn't deliver a Genz Benz cab to me without it being damaged. Fault really lies with Genz Benz on this. Their packing is ridiculous. The 2nd one arrived on Wednesday and it's damaged as the first one was so I asked for a refund. UPS will be picking it up tomorrow. Today I walked into GC and bought the cab in the pic.

I think you'll be plenty happy with that! What kind of speakers are in that cab?

Nice score!

I've been hearing a lot of good things about the JSX recently. The XXX didn't do it for me, but I guess I will have to make a trek over to the store that I cannot name just to toy with one for a while. Mebbe bring Blue with me ;)

Cudbucket,

When you posted this on the Petrucci forum, you mentioned that you hadn't had a chance to really sit down and play throught it yet. Did you get a chance to yet? How does that JSX sound through the Mesa cabinet?

Sweet!!!!!! I been wanting to get a nice half stack for awhile but there`s really no need for me to have something like that since i only play as a hobby in my house. So combos are always the way i go, but when i see something real nice like that,man.....the wheels start a turnin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will really like that cab, i've got the same exact one, it will produce alot of chunck. The JSX head is one of the best things that peavey has put out in a long time, you should really enjoy both head and cab very, very much !!!!!

Yeah, I only play in the house as well but I don't think a 2x12 head/cab is too much. I just like having nice stuff. This replaced a Mark IV on a vertical 2x12 recto. I've played with it a bit now and my opinion so far is:

1) Great cleans. I won't miss the Mark IV in this regard.
2) Much gain! The crunch channel has as much gains as I'll ever need. Ultra is ridiculous. What's nice is that gain is usable. These are 3 very different channels. More gain than I could get from the Mark IV at low volumes.
3) Built in noise gate is nice but I'll still use my NS-2.
4) I'd like to see reverb in the head and not just the combo. I had to buy a Boss RV-5.
5) Hi gain tones, with this cab, have alot of bottom which is necessary if you play at low volumes as much as I do.
6) Tone controls are very sensitive and seem to impact the tone throughout the rotation of the knob. Except for the gain. After 7 or 8 on the knob, it doesn't seem to add any more. But at this point, I can't imagine needing more. I usually have them up around 5 or 6 on crunch and ultra.

I haven't used my pedal board with it yet but so far, I'm super happy with this rig in my situation.

I haven't tried any of the new Peavey products, but if it sounds as good or better than your MK IV at low volumes I'll have to give one a try. I've been using a MK IV combo for years and still love the low volume sounds.
