My buddy at work was telling me about it, I might give it a whirl when it comes out.

I listen to the local classic rock station (WZLX) and my sister will be in the car. From time to time I hear her yell out, "NICK, NICK, I KNOW HOW TO PLAY THIS SONG ON GUITAR HERO!!!". I always find that funny.

Although not nearly as good as joining a band, making friends and learning interplay with the other musicians; I'd say this is a much better idea than Guitar Hero. Something to do to liven up practicing by yourself.

Where are the country and blues songs, though? Classical?

Two of the "metal" guitarists I've played with have cited studying classical music as an essential element to their playing, so you never know. :)

Guitar Hero, Smooth jazz?

"Band and Orchestra Hero", anyone? You've just been endorsed by:

Bach!

"Sweet dude, now I know I really want to play the Euphonium, since I can play Carry On My Wayward Son with it! On Band and Orchestra Hero, that is! Rad!"
